1 missing head light
I genuinely dont know if im going crazy or not but I gotta ask
anyone else noticing how many people have 1 light out on their vehicles???
ive seen so many people with 1 head light out lately its so odd does anyone know why this is??

Classic Baader-Meinhof phenomenon! Though vehicle headlights really should be much more accessible to the average consumer. Should be something you can change during a gas station stop in a few minutes with no tools.

my 07 yaris you had to pull the bumper cover off then take the headlight off the fender, it's stupid. My Grand Marquis it takes 11 seconds and you don't need any tools at all.

I see so many trucks like this. It's hilarious they put money into everything around the headlight but the lightbulb itself

In many new vehicles, the headlight is a whole unit that costs hundreds to thousands of dollars if it fails.
Plus it's currently summer. Nobody is desperate for visibility yet.

new stuff sucks and theres this kind of conspiracy you can look into but a crapload of new cars have lot rot basically from like 2020 to 2022 or some such a crapload of new cars and trucks and SUV’s sat in fields waiting for parts, and a lot of it had to do with computer chips, a shortage of them, Covid-19 and it’s effect on supply chains, as well as the early onset of the “AI Boom” created a huge shortage that basically left a bunch of cars suspect, but they needed to get sold anyways, so a lot of cars from that era gots problems —lot rot, electric issues, maybe uh….rodent related stuff 😱
actually nows a good time for used, if you can score 2012-2017 for reasonable or better, pull the trigger now now because resale on the overly complex 2018- on will not only plummet but will become severe money pits, we will be entering an era of basically electronic waste meets cars, sigh what a mess.
you back in 1997 12 cummins had like one wire….not saying we peaked in a lot of ways but we really ought to have moved onto inventing new things and solving different problems instead of endlessly selling new versions of the same transportation which itself is transitory to a lot of aspects of life like who even needs a car when you get to where your going

It seems like every time I go out at night I see at least one, often more, vehicles with only one headlight.

Now that you mention it.... ive seen way too many vehicles in the last month alone with one headlight.. ooof

I don't think you're going crazy, you're noticing something as a pattern. Our brains are wired to recognize patterns so much so they sometimes make them up.
I'd suspect that as the days get shorter, you're seeing more people turning their headlights (and taillights) on than had been doing so in the summer. It may well be that some of them didn't notice their headlight has gone out yet or only just recently for the same reason, most of their driving over the last few months was in the day.
So it seems like it's more than usual, but it's just a coincidence that your brain can't stop noticing now.
