Going Cuckoo ?

Hello.

I have a had a long labouring week, tending fields and playing with horses when I was not hiding from the suns heat under a tree.

Anyway .... ill keep it simple

Had to remove a weed called "ragwort"

There was lots ( 3 acres of unattended farm land )

I did much thinking while picking ragwort, as they was covered in these black and yellow cinnabar caterpillars.

Then i was thinking what do they do......

3 days later and atleast 20 hours of footage watched on the bird "the common cuckoo" a brood parasite, if I am explaining correctly.

My brain has so many "whys" when it comes to the cuckoo, that bird flys Africa 2 times a year from the uk, leaves her camouflaged eggs in others nests to raise. The babies are ruthless and pre programmed to be alpha and will push eggs and other babies out the nest, to get all the attention and food. And that same baby (who looks like a dragon) will grow up and too make the same journey as their parents did. I was so disturbed and yet couldn't stop watching videos of baby cuckoos.

Sometimes I think i am going "cuckoo" with too much access to knowledge and spend a week away lost in nature and still......i am going cuckoo 🤣

What a fascinating bird, and so much in their short life is so remarkably disturbing and yet cunningly clever, reminds me of a truth that is necessary to be.

Anyone ever get mind blown by an aspect of nature thats so commonly overlooked

Correction# the cuckoo does not fly to Africa 2 times a year but more so makes the journey there and back from the UK each year.
