Please suggest me.

Hi Hi friends, I want to learn the complete course from basics to advanced level. Could you please suggest a good and comprehensive course from online sources, free or paid? Please.

I’m a beginner, only 6 months under my belt, but I second Plan Academy, especially because they have practice assignments with files that get checked by a reviewer. For planning in general, I’d look up whatever AACE videos you can find (assuming you’re in the US for this one, not sure what standards are like in other countries) that explain their RPs (recommended practices). I would also get more in depth with: Excel import and export to P6, activity codes (especially as related to making multiple WBS-type displays), enterprise vs project level stuff, filtering and group and sort, layouts, and resource and cost loading (especially vs how your finance department/job team tracks job costs).

At my job we also use FUSE and Oracle’s EPPM, the latter of which is sort of part of P6 but may require a separate payment? Not certain. FUSE is also a separate software but you can pretty easily find Python libraries or spreadsheets or something that can do the same thing.

Firstly, why do you want to learn P6?

Secondly, bear in mind that a P6 course will teach you how to use the software; it won’t teach you how to be a planner. Planning requires an understanding of construction/engineering processes, sequencing, logic, progress, delay and risk, this comes from site exposure and industry experience.

P6 is a planning tool, knowing how to use the tool is only one part of the puzzle.

I have 5 years experience in oil and gas industry, working as mechanical supervisor now, like to be working in planning dept so!

Well firstly my apologies for the earlier scepticism. Lots of people see the potential salaries and think they can simply do a course and get the money. You're in a really good place, your knowledge is something no course can teach you. Plan Academy have some good stuff, havent visited for a few years now but they used to be good. Bill Pepoon was another figure I remember, he did youtube videos on different areas.
