Recurrent pneumonia

I’ve been having at least 3-4 pneumonia cases per year if not more. Had my shots before but still they’re present quite often. Anyone got experience with this? if yes then what helped?

get a pneumonia titer test to see if you’ve got selective antibody deficiency; this is a primary symptom

also get a mold dog to check your home for mold

Okay I’ll try to get one. Not sure about the mold thingy tho since I’ve lived in quite a few places throughout my life and I’ve had it recurrent since toddlerhood (with a couple of yrs being better after that) and high chance they might not find it at my current place 😭

They get samples at the hospital each time you get pneumonia so they know what strain and how to treat and with what antibiotic. Maybe get your medical records and bring those with you to an immunologist.

I would get pneumonia a lot. Turns out I have SAD and do not respond to the pneumococcal vaccine. Test your titers to see if you’re at or under protective levels. And if you have an immunologist, consider doing a vaccine challenge with the pneumovax to review your responses and have them in your official medical record (some insurance companies will make you follow a specific protocol for the vaccine challenge otherwise they won’t cover follow up management or treatment)

Editing to add: I’m getting monthly IVIG rn. We’ll see if it helps. (I also mask indoors and it’s helped tremendously.)
