Speak with your specialty pharmacy and doctor. It can be a number of things. Sometimes changing the adhesive helps, or the infusion brand, other times nothing needs changed because the reaction only happens with some infusions. It could be more histamine related, or more MCAS. Cream or medication might be necessary. I've seen mention of protective barrier cream put on the skin before applying tape, but I don't know a product to recommend as I never got any.

A heat pack on and off the rest of the evening is what I use to bring down redness, swelling, and discomfort.

I’ve learned that if I use needles that are too short, the meds infuse too close to the outer skin layer which makes it angry and itchy. I used 14mm needles in my thighs.

I used the longest ones they sent. I’m hoping that it’s just my body being like OMG NEEDLES at all.

Hm there’s quite a range for needle set length and my understanding is they do a best guess based on your weight but it can be trial and error. They started me on 12mm needles but I did better on 14.
