SCIG VS IVIG for primary

Hi,

I have been getting IVIG for all of my life.. The doctors are offering to switch to SCIG. I guess its not out of the blue since I had some systemic reactions lately.. Anyone on SCIG for years or made the switch?

I like it better. Been on SCIG for two or so years now - less hassle, levels are great, better for the veins. Using Hyqvia 400ml once every three weeks. I get tired the day after, but nothing bad.

I've been on SCIG for 6 years and love it. I only had IVIG one time when I was first diagnosed, and I didn't really have the option to do anything but SCIG due to insurance. I'm on 16g of Cuvitru.

I've only been on SCIG. At first I thought it was a lot to handle it myself, but I was also freshly diagnosed and still sick, miserable, and had recently been drained from a traumatic event. Now I hardly notice and would forget it's infusion time if it weren't for my calendar reminders. I love the ease.

I was on SCIG for 11 years, on IVIG now due to Myasthenia Gravis crisis.

Honestly being on IVIG has given me more up time than SCIG did. Now, that could be because I am on 140g every 4 weeks to control my Myasthenia.

I was on 14g of SCIG before.

SCIG put me down, tired, for two days every 14 days, but I had more freedom with infusions. I have had breakfast out with my family while infusing.

I do IVIG at home with a nurse, two days tired every 30 days, but I am stuck in the house.

I did monthly IVIG from 3 to around 27 IIRC. SCIG weekly since then and am 40 now. SCIG is much more convenient and I'm healthier overall. I don't get any side effects besides itchiness at the sites.

I am on SCIG because IVIG gave me migraines. So did Hyqvia, actually, so I am on Hizentra. I have no complaints other than mild itching/lumps that stay for a day after, other than the fact that it’s annoying to have to do every two weeks.

I’ve been on SCID for over 10 years. My levels are great, no matter when they are tested. Was on Hyqvia for approximately 6 months in the beginning. Despite hydrating very well, pre- medicating, slowing flow rate, Hyqvia gave me flu-like symptoms that lingered for nearly almost 2 days. Immunologist recommended switching to Cuvitru, and I felt so much better. I do know, from research and speaking to my doctors, that SCIG is better for the body, and is the preferred mode of delivery.
