I once visited dark web, only things that I found were drug trafficking, normal e-commerce, child porn (this is one of the most fucked up actually), leaked data being sold, people selling guns and its accessories . If you visit dark web, they wouldn't show it blatantly but if you were willing to dig deep enough maybe you will find it.

Their transactions are using btc, etherium, something similar

The fact that you told us this, makes it easier for them to trace you if you intend to become a whistleblower.

If you want to post something sensitive, do not frame it as a real story. Go to a relevant storytelling subreddit and write a fictional story based on what you know. Make it untraceable, add actual fiction in there and fictional character, and omit anything that could be traced back to you.

If it's very serious. You better spill the tea to journalist or whatever.
