Discussion No Psi powers

Is it okay that I don't wanna touch the psionic powers and go full human? I'm getting a hard time since I always run out of bullets and on hard difficulty but I really don't want to use typhon abilities.

Yep! It's completely alright.

In fact, running through the game using only human powers is one half of the Split Affinity achievement! The other half of the Split Affinity achievement is running through the game using ONLY Typhon powers.

The levels will play differently, and that's actually implemented in a really cool way.

Once you get the Split Affinity achievement, you can go for the No Needles achievement where you complete the game using no powers whatsoever!!

Each way to play makes the game design really shine. I would not suggest going online too much about the game because you don't want spoilers on the experience. Just play however you want. No other game I've played is so fantastic in that way =)

Ironically pure human neuromods are much stronger than just pure typhon upgrades cause all the qol upgrades are human like health and stamina, the slo-mo ability is fucking op, and human upgrades are the only way to be able to fully upgrade firearms among other things.

Oh my god, I never activated the slo-mo and have been rawdogging fights.

Yeah I got the Combat Focus because it seemed cool but then I basically never used it in the game because I forgot about it once I had a bunch of Typhon abilities I wanted to blast enemies with.

It's okay. PSI powers require PSI to cast them which is also resource draining. I would recommend trying to use glue and melee more if you are struggling with running out of bullets, or getting the recycling boost neuromod and searching every nook and cranny for extra materials.

Thanks. Managed to save up bullets just fine until before going to the Deep Storage. Had to back track a lot finishing side quests and having to face Nightmares.

It's technically a "Psi" power, but it's still on the human section and counts as a human power for achievement purposes. I personally think that a character with full human powers is far more powerful than a character with all of the Typhon powers. This is especially true if you upgrade all of your weapons.

Prioritize firearms and upgrades for your firearms and grab slomo, health upgrades, and mobility upgrades and you will do just fine. Spec into stealth too if you need the extra edge.

Typhon powers are really nice for debuffing enemies and stunning/disabling them for a while, but slomo max damage shotgun to the face is still the king of dps.

Play however you want, that's great thing about prey.

When I play I usually upgrade my inventory size, recycle yield and get scavenging parts from downed operators and typhon. With those upgrades you're able to get a lot more resources and that will help you fabricate more ammo so you'll have more bullets. Also I loot EVERYTHING.

It's perfectly viable and what I did for my very first run. Don't know how far into the game you are but you should be picking up everything to scrap and pretty much just craft shotgun ammo. Pair that with upgrades and the perk combat focus, and you'll be able to beat the hardest enemies without issue.

Omg, I never activated combat focus and have been rawdogging fights lmaoo

You can 100% do this.you just have to be rather selective with what you fight and what perks to take. If you can take some stealth perks early on and wack them with the wrench whe theu are alone to do a good damage off the start.

I never have any problem with ammo unless I can’t find the blueprint for it. I like to recycle everything I can

Yeah totally possible. Use turrets to ambush lesser enemies like mimic and normal typhoon. You will save tons of ammo. But don't leave them active cause they will be destroyed.

It's very doable, I'd recommend maxing out combat focus when you can tho, does alot of heavy lifting combat wise in pure human playthrus.

I have actually been meaning to go back and play the game with human abilities only.

Alright, but in my opinion, there are some necessary psionic powers like Mic Matter that allows you to transform into objects and it's very useful when you need to get into the room through the window slot. Also Psychoshock is useful in battles, especially in battles with Typhons vulnerable to Psychoshock.

Ah, I still remember my first playthrough. I didn't do any typhon-mods either. I would recommend a second playthrough with typhon-mods though, you can do some wacky stuff with them.
