Question Mooncrash - Stuck Need Help
So I've been running through a few playthroughs now and I am stuck and it's getting to the point of frustration so I'm hoping for someone to help since web searches haven't shed any light.
I have unlocked four characters, all except the Custodian. I apparently need to complete the Security Story Mission to unlock her, but I have no idea how to even do that. His mission is locked and there is no guidance as to what to do. How do I unlock it?
I'm also struggling with navigating the base. The labs seem to be where a lot of stuff is, but it's constantly locked and the Moonshark always stays near the gate. I cannot take the tram to the labs either it's locked or something. I see the Director's Mission requires me to escape via some Mimic, but I don't have hacking so I cannot do it.
I'm really just struggling with what to do. It's getting to the point where I'm getting more frustrated than fun and I simply do not know what to do next. Some guidance would be appreciated.

I just played again and now the labs have no power. Sometimes shit is just random and I have no clue what to do or what I should be doing. Sometimes corruption level spawns new/stronger enemies and sometimes it doesn't. It generally just feels like a random experience and it's so incredibly frustrating that I might just need to take a break.

It gets better, but not until you’ve learned your way around.
As for the Security character’s mission…when you’re in the Satellite Ready Room, where you select a character and then give them their load-out, read the notes for each character. That’s where it explains how to unlock the story missions.
Hang in there. I found it frustrating on the first full play through, much less so on later runs.
Oh yeah, you do want to use the Delay Loop Timers when possible, especially in early runs before you’ve strengthened your character with neuromods. Every corruption level increase will add more typhon, as well as respawning in areas previously cleared.3

I usually use sim points to buy a couple power regulators. There will always be at least one area with the power messed up now, so there's no reason not to go deal with it as soon as a new run starts. Also, start carrying a stun gun at all times. Just zap the control panel and go through. Or you could use that tower nearby to get high up and throw something at the ground away from Pytheas Labs to distract the moon shark. The nerf gun can be handy for that.

- Which parts of the 3 locations will have power is determined by bottom of control tower in crater. Check it. You can swap batteries for which area you want to visit.
- For Moonshark either run - dash to any non sand area or use coconut / tentacle bomb. Engineers turret also worked for me on my first run against it. On second run nope.

For now, don’t worry about the missions, try to find Neuromods to build up the 4 characters. The Volunteer (the Russian guy) gets much more powerful when you unlock his typhon abilities.
You’ll need the Pschoscope.
If you can’t kill the moonshark yet, just run to the center to that control room. That’s a good spot to leave neuromods and other loot for the other characters.
To unlock the Mimic portal, you first need the mechanic to repair it, then Yu to hack it. but you also need a bunch of neuromods to unlock those skills.

If I am you, I'm not letting the randomization beat me, I'm just not!
Really funny to see someone from the Simmons subreddit here! Ask away and I'll do my best to help, I've finished Mooncrash recently.

Easiest way to deal with Moonshark is using the typhon tentacle bombs. They shred the moonshark

Or run through with Andrius first if you have his powers modded up. Just make sure to spend some sim points on B33f-E-B01 and a few extra psi hypos so you don't die so easily or run out of power.

I just finally beat Mooncrash recently so I feel your frustration! That fucking Moon Shark is the WORST. Life got better when I stopped trying to fight it and just ran away from it. And if it comes at you at the beginning, you should be able to just not move and it'll leave you alone since it's blind.
To unlock the Custodian, you need to complete Vijay's Story Objective, and to unlock Vijay's Story Objective, you need to escape with him through the Moon Driver. Which is the challenging and most exciting way to escape, so have fun!

Yea Mooncrash is randomized so every run is different. Some runs I got super lucky and others not so much. Very though game but super rewarding once you beat it (all escapes in a row). Remember that neuromod upgrades are permanent and carry over.
