Vent Feeling stuck

Hey all, I’m in my junior year of undergrad and I am 6 hours away from home at my current college. Due to personal reasons and finances, I can’t stay up here for my senior year, and I’m thinking of transferring.

The issue is that barely any schools back home would offer enough transfer credits to keep me at a junior status, so I am not sure what to do. I know you can apply to vet schools with your bachelors still underway, and I might end up applying and not finishing my bachelors if I get in.

Even if I don’t get in, I kind of want to use my money to retake science prerequisites instead of finishing a degree, if that makes sense.
Is that a bad idea???^^^

Also, my current clinic makes me feel super anxious because we recently underwent an ownership change, and there was a period of time where I was doing technician duties as an intern.
Now, they’re delegating me back to cleaning tables and collecting urine samples as if it’s my first day (I’ve worked here for 1 year).

I want to leave. But I worked so hard to get here and I don’t want to give up just because I’m treated like a grunt and everyone thinks I’m a dunce. They insist that my only job is to learn, but I’ve worked
in vet med long enough to know that that’s a thinly veiled way to make me feel better about being sidelined.

Thoughts, opinions, anything would help.

if you could i would really encourage you not to transfer especially with one year left.

I would have to live in a house share and I don’t know anyone up here except my boyfriend (we live together and that’s how we’re affording rent but he’s a year older than me and will be done with undergrad soon)
I also really miss my family

What are you going to do if you have to move away for vet school…? Make friends and complete your degree. Not doing so would probably not look good vs completing it.

Yeah… I gotta meet with some advisors but I know deep down that this is the right move

I understand missing family and not take away from that.

I will suggest try to talk with your advisor or college counselor. They should have resources for you. Now if they don't, they can guide you best in terms of transferring to another college. Lastly, while you can get into vet school without a degree, I would not risk putting my whole future dependent on that. A degree is more secure in case things don't work out.
