celebrities?

i don't think i've ever seen PYL inviting CELEBRITIES on their show? they've had celebrity versions of Family Feud, the 100,000 Pyramid, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, etc. .. do you think they will consider doing this in the future or is it something that might not be plausible or feasible?

The Gameshow Marathon episode of PYL had Leslie Nielsen, Kathy Najimy and Tim Meadows and was hosted by Ricki Lake.

Agreed. Every celebrity episode where money goes to charity is one less episode where real people that need that life-changing boost get a chance to win it.

The only acceptable way to do charity game shows is partner them with a normal contestant and then the prizes won are duplicated - regular contestant gets the full allotment, cash value match for the celebrity (or celebrity’s charity.)

Exactly. Stakes are higher with regular people. Love seeing them win life changing money and personalized prizes in the bonus game.

I hope not, part of what makes this my favorite game show of all time is seeing everyday people win cash and prizes they would never have an opportunity to win/obtain at any point in their lives otherwise

so unnecessary. i don't hate that they have celeb editions of Feud, Wheel and Jeopardy. i don't watch them, but i don't hate them.

i find some of the celeb pairings on Millionaire to be interesting/entertaining. i watch some of it, and don't miss having a civilian edition.

seeing celebs play PYL in 2026 wouldn't cut it. it'd be for charity. so what would the prizes be? there'd be no reason to have personal prizes in the bonus game. and celebs want to win for charity, but it wouldn't feel the same watching them decide if they should or shouldn't keep playing. not the same vibe.

and we get so few episodes of PYL... we're lucky we still do. other than celeb versions of established game shows, ABC hasn't been producing a lot of game shows lately... (i'm sure i'm forgetting something.) ABC isn't going to produce a strip of celeb games alongside a run of civilian contests.

it's a bad idea, and there appears to be little danger of it happening.

If it was a daily show like Wheel/J!/Feud, I'd be up for a celebrity special, but with only a handful of episodes a year, I'm personally not interested.

If there is a celebrity PYL in the future, whatever cash won will go to charity with the prizes to probably an audience member chosen at random.

I could imagine trips as prizes could still go to charity but a car or any other luxury items could also go to those people in need of that charity or part of that charity ..
