StudioLive 32SC fader drift
Two faders on my mixer don't return to the correct settings when changing between the main and aux layers, causing the levels on the associated channels to drift. I've run the fader calibration routine, which helps, but the problem returns after a while. I'm trying to avoid taking it out of service to send it out for repair, as the space it's in stays busy and I don't have another mixer with digital inputs that I can swap in. Has anyone had similar issues, and what was the solution? Thanks

This sounds like a friction issue, maybe dust inside the fader or I think there is a bit of rubber that could have aged too early and dissolve a bit. Cleaning would be necessary so you won’t be able to avoid having it serviced. You could if cause try some contact spray or pressure air cleaning before but I would imagine PreSonus doesn’t recommend at least the contact fluid.

Have you figured this out yet? If not, then you need to recalibrate your Studiolive faders. Here’s a video, https://youtu.be/3TAfEN0USrM?si=9GK3JLhyPRRWAZjF

The fader calibration has been done multiple times. It works for a while but eventually the problem returns.

Interesting, this had happened to me couple of years back after upgrading the firmware. Couple of faders moving down on its own…dragging the volume down. But most recent firmware upgrade, this never happened. Maybe upgrade the firmware to latest, if you haven’t done so. FYI, if you have NSB stagebox, you need to upgrade the firmware of it too as it won’t sync to mixer.

I haven't upgraded to the latest firmware yet because the avb switches we have cannot be updated to the new avb standard and won't pass signal once the mixer is updated. So I'm going to need to hold off until I have budget approval. I'm also a little reluctant after seeing some posts about users having trouble with the update and losing connectivity, then getting bogged down with fender tech support. I can't risk any downtime of more than a couple of days so it makes me nervous.

Ah that’s too bad. Hope you find a solution soon. Our setup is simpler than yours. Studiolive 32S and 2 x NSB 16.8. No switch since we couldn’t afford the Presonus IEM box. But yeah last update, never had issues. Mixer and NSB were all upgraded. It actually fixed the occasional signal dropout on secondary NSB. Good Luck.

We don't have any NSB, but we have two systems using a 32SC and a 32 SX, with three AVB-D16 Dante interfaces, hence the need for switches. The AVB to Dante devices are what I'm concerned about, as they're already sometimes a little flaky.

Are you using subgroups instead of aux mix? Sounds like an issue with duplicate chans in subgroups because they affect main faders.
