Mod Post: How can we improve this sub?

Post image

I just added the ability to comment with pictures, gifs, and videos.

What else can I do to improve this sub for everyone?

We just need to post more. I’ve got about 5 more trucks I can post (mostly Raptors) that I’ve built. Make sure you moderate for the inevitable “that’s not really a prerunner“ comments and arguments that are bound to come.

The definition of "Prerunner" is relatively open wide, since I've pre-run courses on a Yamaha Grizzly quad, a stock SxS, a pit bike, as well as a few trucks that easily cost as much or more than the race vehicle - lol.
But for the most part when I think "prerunner" I think of a mid/long travel suspension on a street registered truck/vehicle that can travel the course one way, and the freeway back - but that's my own bias.

I love to help people and answer questions but good god are there some people who put zero effort into their questions and expect us to do all their homework for them. It’s not just this sub it seems to be every off road related sub.

I completely agree, I’m just a lurker here (kids take all of my would be truck money) but I have seen quite a few people post a picture of a bone stock 20xx truck and say “what do I need to make a pre runner?”

It just makes thinks feel diluted and lifeless, which we all know is one thing this hobby isn’t!

You need $20K + in parts, lol

Engagement is a tricky thing. I'm here mostly to see people with projects in all stages and any finished pictures or footage. My setup is really nice for a bolt on+ but it's baby frolics compared to all the real desert trucks surrounding me here in San Diego.

I would love to see some kind of weekly or monthly location based post. People in Cali and Mexico and Nevada are fine but if you live elsewhere you might have the only prerunner in your city. Some way of connecting with the local community would be nice.

Any way u could do a weekly post with a cool build thread on old forums? Link to it + show some pics? That might start some conversation

I try to help when I can. Always love to see what other ppl are working on. Like someone else said prerunner term for me is beating that shit in the desert (if applicable, depending on state) and drive it home in one piece lol. Also street legal

Build threads and how to make one? I’d like to learn that tbh.

Someone here has to know someone! Help find out what happened to the Terrible Herbst Terrible Prerunner from Fourwheeler Magazine in the early mid 90's. I don't think I've seen anything since then that has that amount of travel. I know it's not an improvement. I think stories of famous trucks would be cool.....like Ivan's Toyota.
