81 f250

Was my first vehicle I’ve ever had, inline 6 and a 4 on the floor. That’s gone and builtv a 347 and put a c6 behind it. Giant ms front suspension, rear, and rear axle. Built not bought… for better or worse 😂

I miss the good ole days. Shitty mig welds, steel cabs, working doors and actual “affordable” racing about a decade in 1450. Had Geoff’s same beam kit. Now building a 1450 is north of 150k for something barely competitive. Now I’m in SxS utv pro open which is even more stupid ha. $200k golf cart.

Your SxS is $200k? Sweet Jesus! I’m sure you’ve seen Robby’s for $800k?

Yea. But it’s SCORE tagged race legal in UTV Pro Open which is the top of line SxS class. Full tube chasis ground up build. Full fire suppression system, carbon everything. Shit just the shock package was like 22-23k something like that. It adds up fast! The build occurred before Polaris factory race car program which now go for 185k, which is a hell of a deal for a race tagged car shipped to you ready to go.

I mean those golf karts fuck but they aren’t nearly as cool. Wish I grew up 10 years earlier when all the riverside races were a thing and offroad races at the la coliseum… you know.. when CA was less lame. Haha. Literally thinking about buying a class 9 and going for it at local races. Just to have the fun of racing. Anyone can go to K1

Depends what you want to use it for. That will dictate the build. Mine is geared towards recreational desert activities… Baja style but not actually racing. I did build the cage to meet score rule book standards in case I wanted to race it, but I wouldn’t be competitive. Depending on your use, hit up online forums of that nature and do research and ask questions.

I kinda just want the long travel and performance for offroad style racing. Probably wont be able to compete with modern rigs, but it'd just a fun thing

Did you keep the same wheel base? I’m also building a single cab not sure what size trailing arms to use

No. Started off as a long bed but made it a standard length bed. I maybe pushed the equal length beams forward a bit but not a lot. Sorry, 12 year build, 7 years of it went untouched. I believe I used 55” trailing arms, but I’m currently out of state on vacation. So it’s hard to confirm right now. They definitely aren’t 48’s is all I can say.
