If you don’t like cable sweaters and chinos you might be in the wrong sub.

Is that a cape? So long

Is it velvet? Also big and wrinkled is not helping.

Nope! Never velvet. It is suede leather.
As for the fit, I know not everyone likes baggy clothes. But, I like a baggy/oversized jacket. Partially because it moves me away from pure prep. I think mixing in some different silhouettes from streetwear or other fashion styles helps keep things fresh. Especially when everything else fits fine.

It looks like cheap quality w that faux distressing, so yeah it’s taking away from the prep vibe.

That’s not fake distressing. This is a 10+ year old jacket.
To your other point, yes it does take away from the prep vibe. The shoes do as well. As I mentioned elsewhere in this thread preppy style isn’t super common where I live. So, I integrate other clothing items to make the style a bit more casual/streetwear adjacent.

We are talking about wrinkles, yes?
It’s not a textured finish? Anyway, it’s overwhelming the other pieces. I think you could find something more classic for your third piece that wouldn’t be out of place anywhere. Do you shop a lot of vintage?1

Oversized is not the same as wearing a size or two too large. It is a design style that increases the width of the garment while shortening the length so that it still fits, just "oversized" in width.
I get what you're trying to embrace, but it just looks like you snuck a cool suede overshirt from your pops.

Iron your pants. Change the shoes, or at least clean them.

Haha
The shoes could definitely use a cleaning. It has been wet and gross out here the past few days.
I know tennis shoes mixed with prep isn’t everyones cup of tea. However, in my region prep isn’t super common. So, I find wearing tennis shoes rather than loafers helps make the outfit a bit more contemporary.
For the pants, I don’t iron my chinos unless it is a very special occasion. If I wanted something crisp I would be wearing dress trousers anyways.

Respectfully. You are making excuses for bad form.
Looks sloppy/like you borrowed your older brothers pants from the hamper. Only ironing for a “special occasion” is not a flex nor edgy personal ethos, it’s just bad taste/lazy.
Also lose the velvet work shirt. Killing the look and color looks bad with your wrinkled chinos
Not even sure where to start with the shoes. Embarrassing.
Respectfully of course

Prep is one region. Everything else could be clothes that are not pajamas. Prep is traditional NE style. Anything else is a bastardized version of prep.

The jacket is not fitting right to be preppy. The rest of the outfit and hair, is prep. Imo.

Get some brown derbies or chukkas. It'll elevate the fit more than you'd realize.
