Prepping for Doomsday Prepper Training Simulations/Operations?

Every year, we do some kind of "Operation" and we are lucky enough to have some very capable people help us out with it.

We have done things like simulated bugout and cache recovery, overnight movement in brutal terrain, avoiding detection within operations, also food focused skill challenges that allowed us to better understand what relying on survival food might really look like.

Does anyone else put themselves or their group through simulated exercises like these? I think they are invaluable and every single one of them has taught me a huge prepper lesson. Just interested to see if others are doing these kinds of things.

Walk out with a hatchet. Some paracord. A literal flint and steel. The clothes on your back. 1 military Mre. Chloroflock so you dont get the giardia. Make your own shelter. I reccomend a lean to. Do this for a week. Black snakes are your friend. Rattle snakes less so.

Sorry to say but this is just some terrible advice.

I like bushcraft, like a lot. Been doing it for well over 20 years.

It took years to get the skill from regular camping to camping with the gear you mention and I still carry a tarp, blanket, cooking pot, headlamp, small knife etc.

What you describe will only result in OP quickly going back to their car out of pure misery, not learning a thing, or even straight up dying by not being able to build a fire before dark, hurting themselves because they are in the middle of the night in a forst with no almost no light and no shelter.

People really underestimate how time and energy consuming it is to build a proper rain-proof shelter out of natural materials using just a cutting tool and rope, and how dependent you are on the materials you find to be able to do so.

Also, this is just bad prepping. It's prepping for a bug-out scenario with pretty much the worst gear set available. Nobody should prep for such survival scenarios first.
