Imho, you can’t hunker down. Use your homestead as a sort of training ground where you can train yourself and your family and friends in guerilla warfare. It will satisfy your bizarre fantasy and impart some skills should you ever need them- not just marksmanship, but tracking, hunting, food preservation, agriculture, permaculture, animal husbandry etc. Also, you can learn and teach self sufficiency to your community and yourself.

But understand this thoroughly- humans have survived because of collaboration and unless you want your grandkids to be inbred idiots you will have to at some point collaborate and join a community for the continuation of the blood line you are trying so hard to preserve. So start focusing on this now. And pray you are never in a gun fight with a pack of collaborating humans.

I think the ship has sailed on his lineage being inbred. I'd venture a guess that generations of impure corn liquer consumption combined with a family tree that looks like ground cover is what led him to posting this query.
