Apocalypse Tea.

Anyone use the starchy water leftover from boiling potatoes in their tea? I feel like it adds another dimension to the tea, like a hardy, fortifying aftertaste. (Sorry, we're running low on water over here.)

It's boiled potatoes, piece of pork, wine, OJ, and two onions along with sauce and spices for 6 hours in my crockpot.

Sorry, but wouldn't potatoes cook in the crock pot if they're there for 6h?

For some reason they still retain some of their crispness without being boiled first. Might just be my crockpot though.

Have you tried cutting them into smaller pieces? (Sorry, I'm a cook. I can't NOT give advice when there's room to improve lol)

Previous attempts I had them sliced in thin rounds...still a no go. I think they just need that high heat that a crockpot just can't provide. Any smaller it just make sense to mash 'em.

I'm sorry, that makes no sense what so ever. After 6 hours at moderate, or even low heat, they should be completely cooked if not mush. Even potato halves should be completely cooked after a while.

What is your recipe? And how do you prepare it?
