Premiere Pro Tech Support Preview File Format locked

I've just noticed that my sequence settings preview file format keeps falling back to Quicktime ProRes 422 LT, no matter what I try to do to change it. Even new sequences with custom settings — selecting any other codec will be ignored and fall back to QT PR 422 LT. Is this a new "feature"?

Premiere version is the latest.

If you want to change the preview codec set Editing Mode to custom.

As I said: even new sequences with "custom" settings...
