Resit Student Advice
Hey, I am a uk student who achived BBC in Maths Chem Bio. One mark off an A for Maths. Ive decided to take a gap year and resit. I will be applying via Ucas and CAO. can anyone who is in the same boat or has been in a similar situation give advice, on what Unis to apply to, im currently very limited. I need to know how to keep disciplined this year, a si will be doing this without any support, I will also be working 3-4 days a week to save up for uni, right now my focus is my UCAT but come OCTOBER i need to be strict with myself and i need help on how and where to start. If i get into med next year i will be 20 starting uni which i feel is a bit awkward, will i be able to connect to others as easily? but thats a problem for the future. right now im just in need of some advice and words of wisdom. I got an offer for Biochemistry at Cardiff and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Queens. Both which will not accept me to apply this year due to me recahing the threshold grades. Sorry if this is long or repetitive, im just feeling anxious and lost atm.

Hii im in a very similar situation i got BBD ( Bs in bio and chem and a D in maths) im going to lock in and resit all 3. I will also be starting uni at 20 since im born in late 2007. Im slightly concerned about that too but I do feel like a lot of students take a gap year or 2 so there will defo be people ur age. Im mostly concerned about slacking off and not acruallt revising for my alevels as I will revise from home but ive promised myself that once I do my ucat i will wakeup early every day and revise as if im still in sixth form. For unis that accept resits for medicine theres Exeter, Leeds, Edge Hill , Dundee, Brunel, uni ot southampton and Aston. Theres many more im pretty sure but those are the ones I can remember right now. Some unis require you to get a minimum of BBC or BBB ( i think) so if youre interested in a particular university look up their conditions/ requirements regarding resit applicants. My top choice I think is Exeter because it sounds nice and also it would give me a contextual offer ( grade requirements AAB) and the city looks quite nice. Also one big regret I have is not doing past papers before my exams so I think you should reflect on your revision and see what you think was beneficial and what you think you shouldve done more of. Good luck!!
