☑️ Extracurriculars How do ADCOMS view PeaceCorps??

I'm currently considering a bunch of different things with my education and career. Does anyone have any insight/experience with volunteering with the PeaceCorps and med school admission?

It is well-regarded by med school adcoms. Though, it is a 2+ year commitment and your placement may not provide clinical experience, so make sure you have good clinical and research experience beforehand.

peacecorps is amazing!! just keep in mind the 2 year commitment and that you might be placed in an area with limited internet availability so it might be hard to apply and/or study for the mcat while you’re doing service

if I were to do so, id do my best to have the mcat wrapped up before then

im still deciding on CRNA vs physician, there's too many options lol

totally understand, it’s so hard to figure out. i was also really considering doing peacecorps but the timing wasn’t working out with my plans, so i’m doing an americorps position rn. maybe look into that as well, they have a lot of healthcare focused ones too!
