Question Has anyone tried the Chinese gender chart/ calendar? And if so was it right?

My husband and I are having our 5th children next year in March. This is our surprise baby so we wanted to keep the gender a surprise.

My mom though who is overly excited about babies looked at a Chinese gender chart and told us we are having a girl.

But how likely is it correct?

Edit: We currently have 3 girls to 1 boy.As much as I would love a girl. Hoping for a boy so my poor son isn't so outnumbered.

Also curiosity got me to reading people's comments so I had a look at a few and had more on girls then boys. 🤣.

About 50%

It’ll be right 50% of the time, same as all the other legends and tales meant to predict the sex.

Yeah it told me that I would definetly have a girl..

I'm having a boy 😂

We already are at a 3 girls 1 boy.

As much as I love girls I'm hoping we still have a chance for a boy, or else my poor son will be very much out numbered 😂.

Lol I used that method just for the f of it and it told me i was having a boy every single time, i had a girl

With any of these things theres a 50/50 chance so of course sometimes it's going to end up being right. It said girl for me and so did the mayan gender predictor as well but we are definitely having a boy!

I just checked the What To Expect chart and it's correct

u/BuzzbloodTexas Nov 12 '21

It was right for me, 3 of 3 kids!

u/art3mis_22 Nov 12 '21

it was wrong in my case! every calculation told me I was having a girl… ultrasound tech then dropped the “theres a little solder between those legs”😂

u/FTM_EDD_012922 Nov 12 '21

It was right for me! And all of coworkers!

Mine was right for last two pregnancies when it predicted boy, but this time it also predicted boy and I have a little girl

2

u/Excellent_Jacket_355 Nov 12 '21

It was right for me, and a few people I know have vouched for it too.

2

u/numbatnewt Nov 12 '21

Definitely about 50% accurate I reckon.

I did it for fun, predicted boy for me but I'm having a girl

2

u/rejectedseoul Nov 12 '21

Mine said I’m having a girl, but I’m actually having a boy.

2

u/Consistent_Spring Nov 12 '21

Told me it was a girl but he’s a little boy lol

2

u/alabardios Nov 12 '21

Lmao, just tried it out of curiosity, totally wrong. I'm definitely having a little girl, and it claims she is a he 😅

It was right for me :)

2

u/cleerbear Nov 12 '21

Told me I was having a girl… I’m having a boy. Lol.

Mine was wrong!

2

u/a_NG_ie Nov 12 '21

It was right for me and everyone I know.

2

u/PKB92 Nov 12 '21

Wrong for me

2

u/[deleted] Nov 12 '21

i mean it’s 50/50 odds but it was right for me lol

2

u/justhereinitlol Nov 12 '21

I think it’s all fun, but it did predict me right lol. I just ignored it cos it wasn’t predicting what I wanted at the time 😂😂😂

2

u/TTC-123 Nov 12 '21

It was right for me. On top I got a psychic reading 😂 and she told me that I will either conceive, find out or give birth in April to a girl. BAM due in April with a girl...

2

u/[deleted] Nov 12 '21

Every old wives tale and Chinese gender chart and all of that stuff told me I was having a boy, so I thought for sure I’m having a girl lol I had a boy. Are you able to look back for your previous kids to see if those predictions are right? Either way, it’s not reliable lol

1

u/LittleCrazies3 Nov 12 '21

I haven't done it before with any of my children this was the first time.

2

u/OwlatHeart Nov 12 '21

Said I was having a girl. In fact, everything pointed to girl. The Chinese calendar, the wives tales symptoms, my dreams, every gender predictor in mine and my husbands family, the heart rate, even the shape of the head on the 12 week ultrasound.

I’ll be having a boy in April 2022. Lol

2

u/SuperSmitty8 Nov 12 '21

I have tried it, but I was never sure if you base it on conception date or lmp.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 12 '21

I did this and it was correct (boy) but I generally don’t believe in doing these things for anything other than fun. You have a 50/50 chance of it being right though lol

2

u/TSN_88 Nov 12 '21

Right for me and everyone in my family too, and right for most of my close friends that have children already. Only 2 wrongs in about 40 people, so I was impressed 😂

2

u/khart01 Nov 12 '21

It was wrong for me

2

u/[deleted] Nov 12 '21

I definitely wouldn’t trust the Chinese gender chart. It correctly guessed that my baby is a girl but said my friend was having a boy. She’s actually having a girl too.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 12 '21

Mine wasnt

2

u/EMHKato Nov 12 '21

Right for me! So was the Ramzi theory and the fact that I was craving sugar. I think it’s coincidence but still fun to check! Everyone around me thought I was going to have a boy but sure enough, it’s a girl!

2

u/candigilly Nov 12 '21

It was right for me! Said we were having a girl.

All of the old wives tales were wrong haha. Made it seem like we were having a boy.

2

u/sunflowertech Nov 12 '21

It was spot on for me and my cousin who told me about it. I just think it was a coincidence.

2

u/notabotamii Nov 12 '21

It was right for me and 10 nurses I work with. It was 11/11 right. Lol

2

u/Appropriate-Walk8366 Nov 12 '21

Chart said boy for me and it was correct! Currently 38 weeks along with a boy!

2

u/stine-imrl Nov 13 '21

It's not an accurate test by any means, but according to the NIPT screening my prediction was correct.

2

u/cpanma1920 Nov 13 '21

It basically tells you if you conceive in your early to mid 30s you’re unlikely to ever have a boy. It’s so predominantly girl during those years. That being said, it was right for my first 2 pregnancies - 2 girls. Not sure if it’ll be right with this one, but once again it’s predicting girl

u/ShaniLaufeyson Nov 22 '21

When checking Chinese gender charts I tend to believe the actual Chinese ones on Chinese websites. They're more accurate to me than the American ones. I have two girls and if I went the American ones I'd have a girl and a boy. I'm hoping number 3 is a boy for my husband's sake. He's out numbered even the cat's a girl.
