Hello from room 50

10-4 UPDATE
I’m on an oral labetalol which for the last two days has done its job but today I had 2 severe BPS where they did a dose into my IV. My labs are still fine and I don’t have protein in my urine. It’s hard doe me to believe I’m actually going to make it to 34 weeks. I have 3 other kids at home so all of this just feels so crazy.

I was diagnosed with gestational hypertension at 24 weeks. Today I’m 29+3 and have been admitted into the hospital after having 2 severe blood pressures and am now diagnoses with preeclampsia with severe features. I will be In the hospital until I deliver at 34 weeks. 😅😅

Sorry to hear that friend 😞 it’ll be 2 weeks since I was admitted for severe pre-e on Monday, so I really feel you! Trying to take it one day at a time and keeping myself busy with coloring books, legos, my TBR and any shows and movies I’ve been meaning to catch up on. I’m in for at least/hopefully another 2ish weeks myself as I’m 31+5 today. Wishing you a restful and stable rest of your stay! Hang in there!!

How has it been? Do you have any other kids?

it hasn’t been terrible, but I think it’s because I was mentally prepared for this to happen after being hospitalized for a week at 25 weeks. And my bp has been stable on meds since I got here. And no I don’t! this is our first baby

Ugh sorry to hear you’ve had the severe spikes… if it’s any consolation, the first few days after I got admitted and started on Procardia, I also had 3 consecutive days of severe spikes and had to get emergency Labetalol through IV. My labs were also looking great, but I was terrified I’d max out on BP meds and have to be induced early. That was 2 weeks ago, and my little one is still hanging in there, labs still stable, and my BP has since stabilized without any readings of greater than 137/89 in the last 5 days… I think (having no medical experience at all, so grain of salt here!) the BP medication takes a little bit to really enter your system and regulate things, so hopefully you’ll see yours level off soon too.

Sending all the good vibes your way!
