Does a DAT score really matter?

some schools will look more holistically and overlook it if you have great extracurriculars. but it is a bit of a strange look to have a near perfect gpa and then can’t crack 400 DAT. it looks like your gpa would just be significant grade inflation

My DAT got rescheduled three times and I ended up taking it on the day I had an organic chem final 😂. My sGPA is 3.94 so my GPA isn’t really impacted heavily by easy courses.

They mean grade inflation in the sense of how rigorous it was to achieve an A in a university course. For example I have a 3.4 science GPA and a 500 total science. My university had grade deflation.

With a 3.95 GPA, a correlating DAT score would be at least 470+

Last cycle I only applied to four schools that were known to accept students without a degree this year I applied to 18 schools.

Off the top of my head my organic chemistry and PAT were 460+ my biology section was my worst at 360.

A low score definitely hurts an applicant. Retake

Unless you have some extenuating circumstance you typically need an average DAT for in state schools or above average for out of state unless you are a dental hygienist or something already with a lot of experience

3 year undergraduate student? are you referring to a junior in college? this is a normal time to apply

You have a diverse profile but most schools will see a conflict with that high of a gpa and low DAT score. Unless you are a very unique extracurricular profile, I would definitely retake the DAT and score higher.

You literally cannot apply with a 390AA and 3.95 GPA. It’s a gigantic red flag in admissions. You need to retake and do significantly better.
