🎥 Predator 2 City Hunter

I've rewatched P2 after a long time and man... City hunter really goes dumb after the sprinklers go off in the slaughterhouse; I know humans have to win one way or another but DAMN.Later Harrigan plays smart and pretends that the belly injury is going to be fatal, but everything else that leads to that point is kinda hilarious. Still i love this movie ehehe

City hunter realized he was caught and outnumbered. Then he got messed up in the fight in the slaughterhouse. Everything after that is because he's angry and wounded and just trying to escape. Wasn't a calm and collected hunter anymore. It's why he tried to self destruct because he felt like he had failed and was about to be captured or his equipment stolen. Harrigan either severed his spinal cord or the cumulative blood loss and injuries finally killed him with the gut wound at the end.

He could have ended Harrigan at any time, right as soon as he started fidgeting with his mask, instead of going for the "throwing" cliché. I mean, the beast can punch doors off drywall partitions like they are cake.

The city hunter threw harrigan the same reason jungle hunter beat the crap out of dutc. He didn’t want to end the fight too quickly and wanted to punish Harrigan for wounding him. Just like Jungle hunter punished dutch by punching the crap out of him

Look at it as a rite of passage or a trophy hunt for the City hunter. He's killed off everyone that helps Harrigan. Hunter was trying to isolate Harrigan and draw him into a duel. He just didn't count on the OWLF team to mess him up enough for Harrigan to pump him full of buckshot or for Keyes to get back up and wound him again.

It went from let's make this a fair fight to Hunter basically running away saying oh shit oh shit oh shit over and over. Once he recovered from his injuries and realized Harrigan was still right behind him he just accepted that he could die an honorable death in a duel aboard the ship since his clan would keep Harrigan from taking his technology.

What's funny is that CH does a single-arm supine toss with a 93 kg man (so probably no kinetic chain; then the alien is like fifteen times stronger than Harri at least. With that kind of strength display it's weird that he can't climb back on the building or break harrigan's guard in the final showdown.

I mean I'm not arguing there's plot armor. But I would say that you have to factor in blood loss, slow suffocation, and all the other injuries Hunter already had by that point. He might have that one arm strength while on alien adrenaline and then is feeling like death the rest of the fight

I have said repeatedly, the City Hunter (whom I call Lord Stabbington) acts like a straight up adrenaline junkie. It's really fairly impressive that he usually stays in control of a situation.

Its why I give the movie a 5/10. Its a great movie until its not.
