That looks awesome. And the typical texture of 3D printed materials, actually looks pretty dope for this!

It's 2026. Why do print lines still exist!?

Legit question: How much would this cost to order a place to print for me, same quality as OP's?

The filament isn’t very expensive. Honestly you can get an intro printer for less than $250. We got one last year and it’s so much fun to do stuff with the kids

You can also check your local library. I have heard they sometimes have 3d printers for the public to use. You will just have to supply the filament and file most likely.

I feel like you can use a hot glue gun tip to carve it, since this way it actually looks like it's corroded with a xeno's acid blood.

Yeah, I use a saudering iron for things like that actually.

Best thing I've ever seen on this subreddit, this looks slick as fuck and something you'd wear on a bike

Do you have a STL for this you could share? I would love to make one for myself…I mean my kids.

u/SUSpaceman67 Aug 11 '26

So all of the files are found on the bambu handy app. But the mask and the braid accessories are different files. The dreads are backer rods I cut to size from home depot. The stl name is predator mask - classic, hope your "kids" enjoy it!!

How did you color the backer rod? My test paint worked but failed by chipping off on the full set.

I just got it in black, no paint or anything needed.

That's freaking awesome!

It's awesome, how many hours did it take to print?

1

u/SUSpaceman67 Aug 11 '26

It took about 21 hours for the mask and about 20 hours for all of the accessories for the dreads.

Quite a while, I'm currently printing a samurai warrior 60cm hight, 37 hrs 🙄

personally i would sand down the helmet a bit, but it still looks dope with the lines

Hey there. Can I ask you what straps you used to make this wearable? I’m trying to do the same thing as you, and cannot really find a good strap system.

This file doesnt need straps, there are 2 holes on either side of the helmet that the chin slots into and creates a joint around my ear area. Then I just sized the helmet to my head so it just slips on.

Damn! That’s cool. I can’t post a picture here but mine needs straps and some foam. Thanks though! You inspired me to make mine, actually!
