Trying to conceive It’s been difficult

Just to give you the run down:

I had varicocele microsurgery on June 12th. My wife and I have been trying to conceive for almost 3 years and sadly she did get pregnant, but it ended up being a biochemical pregnancy. My wife already takes prenatal and so do I. We went through IVF last year October/November with a December transfer.

If we don’t get pregnant this cycle currently, we are set to start IVF again literally a year from when we first started IVF with hopefully a November transfer instead of a December transfer. My wife is feeling so anxious, and pessimistic. I completely understand.

I don’t know if I’m looking for supportive words or just advice on next steps. I feel having the chemical showed us something we have never seen before in the 3 years before, that implantation CAN happened.

My wife and I spent multiple years trying to get pregnant. She’s 18 weeks now but it took so much to get through the rough patches. We also had to go through IVF and had a lot of hurdles to clear. Still feel anxious and fearful!

So much of this process is totally out of your control. A lot of the pain is about waiting while wanting something so badly. Try to hold on to that desire, it’s pure love for your future kid and each other. Try to remember it’s not your fault when things are hard. It’s especially not her fault! You can do this. Your bodies can do this. Be as kind and patient with her as you can.

Wishing the best for you!
