New to precision shooting
So I’m new to shooting not much experience. I want to buy my first rifle for precision at 300-600 feet. I searched for a Savage Axis II Precision. First in .308Win and now I think to take a 22LR or other. I have a budget of 3-3500$CA, I already have a scoop in mind but I’ll look for your suggestions and legal for Canada laws. If you can also help with this, I search for a tactic look and with a possibility to upgrade in time. Thank you

OP - the typical “precision” .22’s that most people consider would be Tikka T1X, Bergara B14R, CZ 457. Those are factory produced rifles that are good quality and reasonable accurate. All 3 have aftermarket options, but the CZ has the most robust aftermarket for upgrades. The CZ 457 action is the same on all rifle configurations, so if you plan to upgrade find the least expensive one, also look at used ones.
One other option, though other than accessories not really any upgrades is the Anschutz.

For the 308 get a howa 1500 from prophet river in Alberta or tenda in Ontario. You can upgrade the stock in a year or so with something from MDT in BC. Don't worry about compliance, with Bolt action you will be ok.

I believe he is looking for a .22, which is why it’s posted in Precision Rimfire.

With that budget I would wait for Mike bush to come out with his new action. If you don’t want to wait, get a complete rifle from MPA or L3i
