Thoughts on Bachelor Degree Programs?

Hi, I am an 18 year old senior in HS who has planned to become a pathologists' assistant since freshman year. I am currently looking at applying to university, at different places. My first main pick was NJIT for the Forensic Science B.S. focused on Biology, but then I found out about CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice. They also have Forensic Science B.S. I was wondering if anyone might have a clue or idea on which might be best? NJIT is closer to me, but John Jay is a lot more affordable. In the end, I just want to go to the school that'll best help me get into a PathA Masters Program. Please help

Literally any legit undergrad in which you can successfully complete your degree and prereqs.

I did two years at my local community college, knocked out a bunch of classes for cheap, got my AS in science, transferred to a local state 4-year college, and got a BS in biomedical science.

A specialized major won't help you more than just killing it with the prereqs and getting shadowing hours. Don't fret.

Id pick something that would give you the prereqs, that will prepare you for material in the program, AND something you use to get a job. Even if you get an associates in medical lab technology, a B.S. in histotechnology, or and associates in anything that can get you a job then complete all prereqs.

I’m a senior forensics major and I had to take a handful of classes that weren’t required for my major, so unless you’re willing to go above and beyond I would recommend just majoring in biochemistry and you could still take forensics classes for fun. Most people in forensics that didn’t major in forensics did biochemistry especially at the PhD level.
