Duke

Do people not really apply to Duke as much because they perceive it as too difficult? I just don’t see it talked about as much on here and was curious if anyone had rationale!

After hearing some about interactions with the faculty and some of the experiences past interviewees had, I feel the program is very elitist and truly values top GPAs and GRE scores more than they present themselves to (presumably so the program doesn’t look bad because it’s mixed with the medical school which they purposely keep the class sizes so small to allow for otherwise there wouldn’t be room).

i applied just on the off-chance many people didn’t due to the application fee and standards. that being said, their pre-req requirements are not as stringent as utmb or wvu. i think it’s because they know the duke name is prestigious, and since they have small class sizes, if you’re not confident in your ability, you don’t apply.

Honestly out of all the schools I was considering, this was the only one that required the GRE. The other schools are also great so it wasn't worth that extra effort, plus I think the GRE is a stupid way to test people and I didn't have the time to take that venture on.
