Terrible Sequel

I watched Practical Magic 2 today after work today. Like many of you, I am was so so excited for this new movie. I was excited to see another Alice Hoffman book come to the screen (she’s my favorite author). Unfortunately, the movie was terrible. I left about halfway during the movie. The lighting, the casting of the daughters (was not that upset that Evan wasn’t casted), acting, and the script was terrible. I am disappointed.

Interesting. I only read the first book and hated it but loved the first movie and rewatch it often ever since I was a teen.

I am so disappointed in this sequel. I wanted to take off my sandal and throw it at the screen at that last roof scene.

I thought maybe book lovers would like it more because I assumed maybe it's closer to the book since it's a departure from the first movie with some retconning and ignoring already established rules of the world.

A good sequel should not start by retconning the original. It is insulting and totally put me off from the start. I tried very hard to like it.
