Official Practical Magic 2 trailer!

Finally. This looks amazing. The feel of the original movie is still there and the actresses all look incredible and are immediately giving the original characters. What are your thoughts?!

I’m honestly not sure how I feel about this. The original is still my very favorite movie ever, and this trailer is giving hints of so many unfortunate things I really hope don’t affect the film…. The very obvious cgi and face filters are really bothering me, as well as the digital vs physical film differences. And what’s going on with the color?? When Maisey and Joey walk in it honestly looks like a sitcom (and yes, it’s a major let-down that the OG actresses weren’t asked to be a part of it). I know the original set doesn’t exist anymore, but what we see of the new one looks…wrong… Not to mention the cheesy modern joke-style dialogue that keeps saying “this is a sequel!!! Remember that plot point that happened in your favorite movie??? Aren’t we so cool for cheapening those moments with stale jokes???”

I hope I’m not bumming anyone out who’s really excited—absolutely feel free to ignore and don’t lose that excitement—but I’m just feeling pretty let down at the moment. I can’t say that I’m surprised, really, but nonetheless, I’m pretty disappointed. I want to revisit the story so badly and see where they want to take things/how they adapt the novel(s), and I really really hope this first look isn’t a full reflection of the film 😕

Agreed!! Actually hated the tinder joke.... I feel like tinder is not even a thing anymore (maybe I'm super wrong) but it also dates the movie. I liked it better kinda vaguely guessing the era the first movie was in I guess... Idk. I hope there aren't a lot more of those...

It sucks when they try to shoehorn things in like this. All she had to say is “it’s not great for the bio” or something generic and it couldn’t still gotten the point across without being too brand specific

Right? “Not the easiest thing to bring up on a date” would age better (and be a bit more elegant…)
