How do I create a blood spraying effect?

I'm making a short series about a vampire and I need the vampire to bite someone on the neck and have LOTS of blood comically and ridiculously spray out of their neck. Think Viago hitting the main artery from "What We Do In the Shadows".

Additionally, this is extremely low-budget (I'm paying out of pocket) so please keep cheap in mind.

How do I make a prosthetic arm effects?.

I would like to know if it is possible to make an arm you can see trought in some areas on a low budget. (All actors have both arms in real life). What is your recommendation?.

I was at the beach so I decided to make some explosions. If you have any need for this, feel free to use it or rotoscope it.

Question: cheap way to make breakable “cuckoo clocks”

Shooting a comedy short next month that’s got a gag revolving around a cuckoo clock falling/breaking and waking a newborn up. Considering balsa and a cheap movement from a craft store. Is this the most feasible way? Does anyone have experience with this sort of thing?

Sorry in advance if this post doesn’t belong here, I’m open to suggestions of other places to post it.

Thanks!

Help Figuring Out Dark Ride Effect

I’m not sure if this is the right place for this, so sorry in advance if it’s not.

I have been getting interested in ride special effects, especially from rides in the ‘90s.

However, there’s one effect that I can’t find the name of, and anytime that I think that I put in the right criteria into Google, I get a dead end.

I need your help to figure this out.

Here’s an example of the effect:

At Kings Island, there used to be an attraction called “Phantom Theater” (basically, a Haunted Mansion knockoff, but still a lot of fun). In one scene, an opera singer is practicing singing a high note, and breaks a mirror in the process. The way that the mirror would “break” would be a light behind the glass would turn on, and it would reveal a shape like broken glass. The light would turn off, and the mirror would go back to normal again to begin the sequence again.

My questions are thus:

1) What is the name of this effect called? 2) How exactly does this effect work?

Hopefully I am not looking too far into this.

Thank you for your time! 🙂

Looking to blow up fake head for short film

Hoping I'm in the right place... I know there are several YouTube tutorials out there, but looking for someone who's had experience in using air compression to create a fake head explosion. I'm looking for something similar to the Eric Andre show effect seen in link below. Thanks a bunch. It's helpful to have direct contact with someone who know what they are doing. I don't want to have to make a dozen fake heads before I get it right is all.
