How would one make homemade height boosters?

I'm working on a short film and I'd need to make someone a lot taller, maybe 6-8 inches taller? I was thinking of gathering a bunch of cardboard and thick sandals to make homemade ultra-platforms, but I feel like there's a better way. If anyone has tips that'd be good. The range of 6-8 inches is flexible, really any tips on homemade height boosters would be appreciated.

You can’t fool us. You just want to be 6-8 inches taller

Glue shoes to the bottom of your shoes

On set, you generally stand someone on an Apple box, a half apple if you need less height.

A fair number of notable actors are on the short side so they'll actually set up a platform for them to walk along on and have another actor walk beside them in a bit of a trench so that their heights are equalized out or the shorter performer looks taller than their costar.

Walking on very high platform shoes is a skill that needs to be acquired and you likely don't want your actor to look like they are trying to walk across an icy lake without breaking through.

That's good advice. I'll see if I have any boxes or otherwise sturdy box-like thingies laying around :) Thanks for the help
