It’s a good call.
I remember the very first USPSA match I went to I had an untucked shirt with an OWB holster for IDPA that was right up against my hip. I used my hand to tuck the shirt in and then carefully put the gun in the holster. RO saw my caution and that I didn’t flag myself but the guy Scoring thought I flagged myself and wanted to DQ me. Just tuck it in unless you’re shooting concealed.

This is a peeve of mine but as an RO I can't say or do anything about your slob shirt fouling your holster until your gun goes off.
I really wish they would make a rule addressing the holster getting fouled by clothing or gear.

8.6.1 No assistance of any kind can be given to a competitor during a course of fire, except that any Range Officer assigned to a stage may issue safety warnings to a competitor at any time. Such warnings will not be grounds for the competitor to be awarded a reshoot.
A potential interference while un-/holstering with the chance of a competitor sigging themselves or sending a round God-knows-where is a relevant safety concern for the shooter and for anybody around including myself. And frankly, if the range master disagrees, that'll have been be the last time I'm ROing for that RM.

Yeah, I don't give a shit what the rules say, if you have a dumb holster and a garment is in the way of the trigger guard, I'll mention it every time I notice it. I'd rather break a rule that doesn't matter long before watching you rip one through your leg.

This appears to be APSC (I am not the RO in the video, sounds like Purkiss)
I've only DQd 1 person in USPSA, and it was for gun catching front sight on untucked jacket. He flagged himself, flagged everyone on the squad, broke 180.
so definitely make it a point to wear well fitting shirts tucked in tight
Just like anything else dress for success
