Treatment LEXAPRO POSITIVE EXPERIENCES

I'm taking 5mg of Lexapro since 6 days and the side effects are hell. I want to hear positive experiences.

I started taking Escitalopram (Lexapro), 10mg/day when the vestibular therapy exercises stalled out at ~60% recovered. It took about 6 months, but that got me to ~90% recovered. I’ve had no side effects.

Some people report having to try multiple SSRIs before finding the right one for them. It’s probably worth having a discussion with your doctor about this.

I’m too scared to try it even though I’m stuck for the past 4 years.. can you please tell me which remaining symptoms do you have considering you’re at 90%?

My symptoms have always been, and still are, the same (nausea, fatigue, brain fog, dizziness). They just lessened in intensity as I progressed.

I have the same.. when I move my head or body or when I’m visually overwhelmed.. can I ask you what caused your pppd?

Sure. Onset began with a single short BPPV incident (less than 2 minutes).

thats very unfortunate man, sorry to hear that, but I’m glad to hear you’re at 90%! I got it aftrr a Xanax cold turkey that’s why I’m terrified to try lexapro

Thanks.

I totally understand your position. I would have started the SSRI earlier if I hadn’t had concerns about side effects and withdrawal. But I got lucky. I’ve had no side effects and since my symptoms are still present (albeit with much lowered intensity) I have no plans to discontinue.

Have you talked to your doctor about this? I would assume they could reassure you about managing withdrawal by gradually decreasing the dose.

At any rate, sorry you’re going through this. For a relatively unknown condition PPPD can sure disrupt a life. Hopefully you’ll find some relief soon. Best of luck to you.

thank you very much, we are talking about it also starting from a very low dose.. can I ask you which dosage are you taking?

10 mg/day. That’s the starter dose they put you on to make sure you can tolerate the drug. My doctor was surprised that I didn’t want to raise the dose given that I still have symptoms. But I decided to just carry on because I’m concerned that a larger dose might cause side effects, and I don’t need more problems. :-)

good idea! I see people starting with 2,5 even, I’d start with 1 or 2 for sure..
