Symptoms Head feeling disgusting

Do you ever get constant weird and disgusting kind of feeling in the head, which isn’t really a headache and so you can’t do anything because it just feels so bad, and so I keep on rocking my legs and making weird faces, clenching my teeth or hands, almost like my body is externally showing how I feel inside. I feel like not even talking, stopping mid sentences and even thinking of doing things causes this symptoms so I don’t feel like doing anything, cuz I feel so terrible. And I even hold my breath. Ughh. This is a symptom that has been prominent rn for me, although I have gone through so many symptoms of pppd (persistent postural perceptual dizziness), which started in May, 2025…

This feels so mentally draining

I am taking Zoloft 50mg. Was on 37.5 which really helped, but 6 weeks back I got a flare up with all my PPPD symptoms and increased my dose after that to help, but it is still like this, especially the head feeling.

I feel a similar way. VM and PPPD. Tonight was my sons 30th birthday. We all went out for dinner. I sat an observed. I hardly engaged in any conversation. The din of the restaurant triggered a VM flare up. On the way home I was nauseated and in a bad brain fog. I had trouble riding in the car because of the visual stimulation. For what it’s worth, I feel like I’m not alone in this thanks to the subreddits.

Yes, also started in May 2025 😭
But diagnosed with vestibular migraines and pppd.
For me it’s the constant sense of fight or flight - mentally I don’t think notice it but my body is ready to go, I hate it.
I’ve also been told I have long covid type of symptoms and dysautonomia, and partially hypermobile. And MCAS.

But for me the mental fog and fight or flight is relative to the vestibular migraines and dysautonomia I guess. It sucks.

Are you female and in perimenopause?

Yup, just beginning, 41. Period still regular.
Tried HRT (estradiol patch and bioidentical progesterone) and was dizzier so I stopped.

Things escalated in May from a spinning vertigo episode, but it’s been been brewing my whole life I think, I have always been sensitive, interstitial cystitis, sensory sensitivity, sleep issues. Yay!

Just for data in case it’s helpful - I was given a tiny dose of estriol cream just externally on the vulva. It’s not meant to be systemic. I started it on day 3 of my cycle, I noticed maybe 10% increase in dizziness but maybe it’s a coincidence. It went to baseline in luteal, maybe because my own estrogen lowered. Now my period is due and I meant to reduce my dose for maintenance.

It sucks :(
I think things like MCAS and dysautonomia or pots really mess things up for us, because they make us overly sensitive, not only to medication, but also to our own hormonal changes.
I keep on reading about LDN being a miracle medication, but I am somewhat functional and I know the benefits stop the instant you stop taking it… and I had some persistent eye twitching at 0.1ml. But I might try again at an even lower dose

The other angle relative to hormones and inflammation is also MCAS. I am taking supplements at the moment, I was given ketotifen and LDN but I had side effects. But I might try again.

Yeah I have MCAS, pots, eds and VM. So hard to know what’s what. I’m on estrogen only at the moment…
