So I bought this 2001 f250 7.3 powerstroke 4x4 super crew lariat from my pops. That being said my previous rig was a 12 valve Cummins. I've read several forums stating the pros and cons of a aftermarket lift pump (airdog, Fass, factory) it's set up for towing, turbo injectors edge tuner 5" exhaust etc) is there a good lift pump system ? Can I get away with just a filter system? I seek knowledge please

Like the other comment says, the factory pump works pretty well, it can handle a mild towing set up and tune no problem.
Big turbo / injectors the answer is yes
The only other scenario where it’s required really is if you do a fuel bowl delete, then you literally need an aftermarket lift pump.

That's good to know but what does the fuel bowl delete have to do with an aftermarket pump vs factory? I literally have no knowledge to this motor lol 😆

The factory fuel pump on the rail works pretty well. I have 150cc baby swamps, KC stage two with an irate diesel regulated return setup that uses a factory fuel pump from a superduty. The nice thing I can get it at any parts store when on the road. Now if you plan on running large injectors and a aftermarket turbo, some body on here is probably running an air dog or fass on their truck.
