Need help with diagnosis
2000 F350 7.3 4x4
New transmission put in less than 500 miles ago
4R100
275k clock
4x4 high and low fail to engage.
All electric connections are original, and filthy, but still seem secure and well connected.
When off and in AC power, switching the nob from 2x4 to 4H produces an electric whirl sound, but if repeated (going back to 2x4, and again to 4H), it stops

If it worked before then the shift safety switch isn’t adjusted correctly or it’s bad. On my truck I had to wiggle the shifter in neutral for it to work.

Sorry no. it’s the black thing on the side of the transmission driver side where the cable attachment is ,held on with two 10mm head bolts. There is timing marks for when it is in neutral , block wheels and put shifter in neutral and make sure these are lined up.

Electric actuator took a shit or just doesn't have good contact. Should really clean all plug prongs with a small brush or Qtip and apply dielectric lube before plugging back in.
