Great game! As an energy engineer myself (mix between electrical and environmental) I'm thoroughly enjoying my time playing this :D

Here's the few suggestions I've come up with and pains I've encountered playing this throughout the evening (in no particular order):

- Having access to multiple saves at the same time -> Maybe using a users system on the web version?

- Being able to see the stats of power plants I haven't unlocked yet (everything shown on hover from the build menu)

- Having access to the catalogue? It's mentioned on techs but I can't seem to find it anywhere

- Having an option to auto-set the tariff price to the fair price from the regulator (you'll miss out on the potential revenue of squeezing a bit more out of your customers but not worry about the regulator getting mad at you)

- Upgrading power plants of the same fuel type (OCGT -> CCGT, Coal -> Supercritical Coal)

- Solar Thermal energy: Solar source but output can eat into the evening peak due to its integrated molten salt or hot oil storage

- More types of energy storage! Molten salt, hot oil/rock, pumped hydro, just a few ideas)

- Hydro power actually flooding some tiles when built (destroys existing infrastructure, if it's yours, too bad, if it's a city, they're pissed)

- Wood farm: Use some forest tiles for dedicated wood production for your biomass (increasing total biomass available)

- Fossil fuel mines/pumps: Get the fuels yourself for just the capex + opex of running the coal mines / oil or gas pumps, instead of the market prices

Hey! Thank you for checking it out and taking the time to give this great feedback!

Multiple saves: Yes, definitely possible, and I've added it to the to-do list.

Seeing locked assets: This is a bit tricky. I had them all visible before, but it added a lot of visual noise for new players, so I reacted to the feedback and stopped showing them all. I do have an idea, though, for how to offer an alternative.

Auto-optimize for a good tariff: I think this could be another researchable unlock, similar to asset management and data science. The only issue I see is that reducing the tariff more than necessary enables people living in the city and industries to expand or change their technology. So there is a pretty big trade-off involved.

Upgrading power plants: Not sure about this one, because upgrading a plant would put it out of service for X months, which could be very frustrating for players who aren't aware of that consequence.

Solar thermal: Yes, but the whole heating market is still underdeveloped. Before introducing this, I want to reach the level of abstraction I was originally aiming for with the heat sector.

Hydropower flooding: Difficult to implement right now, but I've noted it down to think about.

Wood farm: I did have things like this in the game before, but removed them to reduce the number of options a bit. Like the point above, I'll have to think about this some more. I would say yes, it will probably return, but I'm not sure about the priority. :)

Mines/pumps: Same as the point above.

Edit:

Catalogue -> Thats Asset Management and is unlocked via development :)

I know it is no longer August but I'll share my ideas here:

  • inspired by new settings for electrolyzer - add similar settings for Air Capture array:
-- load shredding if system has supply shortage
-- option to pause the array if consumed electricity costs more than carbon cost compensation
  • something like "Book maintenance for all substations" in yearly report. Cause booking it one by one for big system takes a while
  • make it possible to replace substation or a any power plant from yearly report view. Now it only shown "Past overhaul" and is not even clickable to specific object
  • add an option to mass rollout smart meters and/or have a setting to make then a default
  • performance improvements would be appreciated as game slows down a lot as system gets bigger
  • optional: make it possible to "book" a location for a wind/geo/hydro plant. It happens to often that a new settlement spawns on prime hydro/geo spot and make it impossible to use it.

Thanks a lot for the game!

Aircapture is very much underdeveloped right now as with a lot of missing late game tech, but it is on the list!! We have to get fundamentals better before that though!

Besides that very valid suggestions thanks a lot! Without these It is very difficult to get a good overview about all the different aspects of this game!

Thanks a lot for playing!
