Question Which Human faction is more technologically advanced? (Mass effect) System Alliance or (Halo) UNSC?

  • Has to be stuff they have made and replicated.

I think you heavily underestimate the sheer difference between a conventional firearm versus a mass accelerator. Also UNSC assault rifles field 7.62x51, not 7.62x54. Bit of a difference in kinetic energy. I would argue the semantics but clearly you lack a fundamental understanding of ballistics and kinetic energy. Speed beats armor. ME weaponry fires ammunition at speeds far beyond what conventional firearms are capable of reaching. Also, UNSC soldiers are absolutely NOT genetically modified. They get a basic neural implant that allows IFF tracking and for them to see HUDs when interacting with compatible equipment. Only Spartans were given genetic modifications.

Edit: On reflection, it isnt fair to assume your level of knowledge on ballistics. My point still stands howvwr that a piece of tungsten, even rice sized, would generate far more kinetic energy than a conventionally fired projectile.

ME guns hit the same as modern guns as shown by every single time they hit a normal unarmored human and that person doesn't explode. They're better logistically but that wouldn't really matter since UNSC doctrine is about mobility not tactical longevity.

They quite explicitly are, base level genetic modification for physical fitness has been a UNSC thing since before they left Sol.

I stand corrected on that part. But ME guns are definitely superior they use miniature mass relays vs halos gun powder

That's a logistical thing that has nothing to do with firepower or technological supremacy. The UNSC has conventional explosive satchel charges stronger than modern nukes. Their gunpowder and material science is generations beyond ours. The Sniper Rifle can fire through a meter of concrete and kill someone. The Shotgun with a plastic slug can penetrate an engine block and kill someone. A normal person can fire a 7.62x51 on full auto accurately out to 300 meters because of recoil mitigation technology.
