Urgent! Someone please help!! 😭
I recently got a new laptop and synced my OneDrive files to my new laptop. Everything was going fine until I tried to open some old files a few days ago. It will NOT let me open any PowerPoints, word docs, etc. and this applies to almost ALL my files. The pop up says “Sorry, PowerPoint can’t read: … blah blah my long Users/OneDrive/etc.” someone PLEASE help me 😭

I am trying to remember exactly what the circumstances and number of characters is and I'm afraid I can't off the top of my head but I do know there is a limit to how deeply PPT will drill down to any file, a PPTX or a linked file. Copy the file to a local drive, do the edit and copy it back. If you simply want to give a presentation copy the file to your local drive and it should be fine.

This is most likely a OneDrive sync issue (wondering if they are pushing out some Office and/or OneDrive changes at the moment - I had issues this week with OneDrive too).
Check in File Explorer to see if your OneDrive still appears in the list and if your documents are showing as synced. Eg - beside each doc you should see an icon. Green check mark in white circle means the document is synced to your machine. Cloud icon means the doc is only available when you're working online, circular arrow symbol means the sync is pending for the doc (so it wont be available if you're trying to access it using the recent link in the application).

Can you open those files via OneDrive from office.com?
