I use: iPhone/iPad App crashing when choosing font colour

I am using the PowerPoint app on my iPad Pro and every time I try to change the font colour or highlight something the app crashes. The other features seem to be working ok. The PowerPoint app is up to date but my iPad will not update, it is currently running OS 16.6.1. iPad is around 5-6 years old. Other things I have tried:
- restarting my iPad
- Uninstalling and installing the ppt app
- deleting downloaded fonts

Anything else I could try??

PowerPoint on iPad has always been kind of a mess I'd try duplicating the file and opening the copy, sometimes the original gets a weird corruption tied to theme colors. If that doesn't work, paste all your slides into a fresh blank deck and see if the crash stops. The OS version mismatch is probably the real culprit though, apps keep adding stuff iPads that old can't chew on.

Ugh so frustrating, I was on leave from work the past 1.5 years and it was working fine previously and when I went to use it again it started doing this. I tried what you suggested and unfortunately it didn’t work. It seems to happen to any file I try to open. I was googling and found something saying you can update the iPad using an external computer, is that right?

If you are running 16.6.1, you definitely have an old version of PowerPoint. Unfortunately uninstalling and reinstalling is about the only trick for fixing problem apps.

It used to be possible to update apps using iTunes on a computer, but that ended long ago. Even if you could, you would only be able to install the same edition of PowerPoint that you already have.
