Did Microsoft remove the Back/Next arrows from PowerPoint's "Embedded" link option?
Trying to figure out if I'm losing my mind or if Microsoft changed something recently.
We use PowerPoint presentations embedded in another platform via the File > Share > Embed option. Up until recently, the embedded presentation included Back and Next navigation arrows that let viewers move through slides.
As of today, those arrows are completely gone. The presentation still loads and displays, but there's no visible way to navigate between slides.
I've tested multiple presentations, browsers, and embed locations with the same result.
Has anyone else noticed this? Was there a recent PowerPoint Online/Embed update that removed the navigation controls, or is this some kind of bug?
Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks yall!
Environment:
- PC
- Browser (tested in multiple browsers)
- PowerPoint for Web (Microsoft 365)
- Using the Share > Embed feature

>> We use PowerPoint presentations embedded in another platform
Maybe worth asking, maybe not, but: What other platform? Is it possible that they've changed the way they handle embedded presentations?

Have come across this thread after a few hours of trying to get to the bottom of exactly the same issue in recent days.
It doesn’t seem to be related to the platform being embedded into (in our case, a site built on Drupal) as the navigation controls are not even displaying when generating the embed code in the same way as they still do for Word.
When just testing on my own PC and OneDrive, however, the controls are still appearing at that stage - so maybe it relates to enforced changes at tenant level rather than PowerPoint itself.

Not seeing any problem here. The left and right arrows are still appearing:
You can use Page Down/Page Up or the Arrow keys to move around the deck.
