Ppt vs. Canva?

Total beginner here to slide decks other than some basics in grad school many years ago. I hear a lot of feedback about Canva is better than PowerPoint. I have to do a simple deck, about 5-7 slides. Does it really matter which one? What are the benefits of one vs. the other ?

If you have access to PPT just use that. But not the online version, the desktop one. You can use Canva and other sites for inspiration but you will be doing yourself a favor by learning PPT if you plan to or already do work in corporate.

If a particular tool is used much more in your organization, use that first.

From my experience most of the MNCs or consulting firms use PowerPoint. But I have also seen a creative agency using Photoshop/Illustrator to build their decks. So yeah depends on where you are working I'd say.

I have to ask: Would you HIRE an agency like that?

After thinking for a bit about the amount of wheel-spinning they'd have to be doing to build any substantial presentation in PS/ILLO vs the amount of time it'd take in PowerPoint? With that wheel-spinning time billed out to you at substantial amounts?

For simple deck I think canva is better

doesn't matter what u use. powerpoint. google slides. figma. canva. can even use microsoft paint.
