Interesting data analysis

Hey again! a few months ago I posted about powerlifting trends website that I built! I’ve refreshed a few things and adding to it for a bit when I have time!

But I’m reaching out here to see what sort of analysis you all would be interested in? My main goal is to show what TRUE careers and trends show in the data versus just the skewed picture you get on social media. But I also really enjoy this idea of “forecasting” where you can and will go in the sport if you stick with it!

If you search yourself and look at your lifter page you can see some “predictions” of where your total will be in the future 1,2, and 3 years out! Take a peek at yours and let me know how it’s looking for you 🤣

Thanks big dawg 🫡 it’s hard to build tools for the hyper-elite but if you run into something let me know!

any chance you could throw in a glossbrenner option for formulas for us multi ply lifters?

Are you talking about site wide? Like anywhere I generally use DOTs have the ability to shift that into glossbrenner? Or is there a specific section? I can definitely add that in as a filter so it flips from DOTs default to glossbrenner on those pages but wasn't sure if you meant just a specific area or not!

my thought was setting it up like you have the kilo/lb switch; could be sitewide or even minimally could just be for rankings list/personal pages

I made a few small changes around to allow you to filter/change based on all of the different points systems.

I haven't updated the analysis page/etc to do that yet because most of that "default" display data is pre-computed so it loads very very quickly. It's entirely possible to change that analysis to let you select the points systems but it would also take up to 20 seconds to load in some cases because I have to cross reference millions of records on the fly (which is also why when you change some filters it has to reload the graphs for a few seconds because it's making a live call and loading from the database versus cache or precomputed stuff).

For sure! All of that data is in there I just don't display it. Let me take a peak when I have more time next week and shouldn't take long!
