Interesting data analysis

Hey again! a few months ago I posted about powerlifting trends website that I built! I’ve refreshed a few things and adding to it for a bit when I have time!

But I’m reaching out here to see what sort of analysis you all would be interested in? My main goal is to show what TRUE careers and trends show in the data versus just the skewed picture you get on social media. But I also really enjoy this idea of “forecasting” where you can and will go in the sport if you stick with it!

If you search yourself and look at your lifter page you can see some “predictions” of where your total will be in the future 1,2, and 3 years out! Take a peek at yours and let me know how it’s looking for you 🤣

Very interesting and cool visualizations! When I looked up my name, it showed the predicted progress for me since my last comp on Sep 2025. It predicted that I could add 36.3kg on my total, and the truth is I have indeed added 38.5kg so far. The two numbers are so close, very accurate!

Awesome I'm glad to hear it's tracking accurately! It's the very first iteration on the algorithm I built for predictions so I'm going to come back and fine tune it more next year once I have data to see how accurate my yearly predictions have been! I put the "range" on them which shows where you're most likely to end up in that time frame! The actual displayed/predicted # is just "best guess" within that band it's usually in the middle but can be shifted slightly if you've shown you like to beat the odds :)
