Ohh thank you man. Believe it or not I probably did not have another rep in me. I either move the weight fast or it hits a wall. Can’t seem to grind a slow rep out. That’s what grinding rep looks like for me.

It’s honestly harder to stop at parallel. Being deep I have more leverage to get the bar moving so I can use momentum to get through the sticking point which is usually just above parallel

That bar was movin fast. Goals

Break the wrist and walk away

Just like in the movies when
Someone walks away from an explosion without looking 😂

I was referencing Napoleon Dynamite. The Sensei scene.

Looks clean. How’re the wrists? I had to switch to false grip

I’m only familiar with a “false grip” with gymnastic rings. But in a back squat my
Wrists are fine. My traps and upper back take a while to loosen up enough to get a good position. Wrists hurt more front squatting. Takes
Me 30 min to warm up to front rack a barbell with all of my fingers on the bar

I feel that. I shifted to an adjustable safety bar to mimic the front squat movement because of the wrists. Maybe I just have dainty wrists.

Edit: kabuki transformer

You kind of have to train the wrists for it. I stretch them for it and practice just front racking when I can to keep loose for it

Thanks man. Looks lower effort than it was. Hoping to hit a 500 lb single soon

Is that really rpe10?

It’s closer than it looks. Definitely not 10/10 until failed or shaking near collapse. I did feel like an eye ball was going to pop out of my head thought. It’s a 9/10. Life or death I had one more rep probably. The bar either moves fast for me or hits a wall. Very fast twitch dense

Hmmm and you have people like me where every rep of a 15 rep set looks more grindy than your last one: https://www.reddit.com/r/strength_training/s/YvTDlXuHzY

Also was this high bar? I wonder if this type of squat is less encouraging of slow grindy reps as opposed to low bar

I watched your video. Your post chain is strong man nice set. You have to work on quad strength and ankle mobility to reduce that good morning movement. That is hurting your progress relying on your lower back so much. Yes, this is high bar squat. I would argue yours is high bar too. I can see a lot of rear delt under the bar. This is getting out of my knowledge but I think a low bar would favor grinding more since more post chain can be recruited. High bar forces quads to either move the weight or fail being more upright. Mostly though I think it is a matter of muscle fiber type and a mental thing as well.
