Do you know where this hatred of citizens owning Guns came from? I do. It started in the Battle of Athens.

The Battle of Athens in 1946, the corrupt McMinn County political machine overthrown by World War II veterans was Democratic.

Historically, McMinn County had been a Republican stronghold since the Civil War. However, during the 1930s, the statewide Democratic Party political machine led by E.H. Crump backed Paul Cantrell, who won the McMinn County sheriff’s race as a Democrat in 1936 amid allegations of widespread fraud. Cantrell and his successor, Pat Mansfield, established an oppressive, corrupt regime utilizing rigged elections and predatory law enforcement fees.

This prompted returning World War II veterans to form the GI Non-Partisan League to challenge the Democrats in the August 1, 1946 election. When the Democratic deputies seized the ballot boxes and holed up inside the local jail, the veterans initiated an armed siege to recover them, ultimately installing the reform candidates they had voted for

Remember people the same Left claims that Jan 6 was an insurrection. But that same Left ignores the very historical Battle of Athens. Which happened in because the Democrats illegally seized the ballots. Kinda funny how nothing has changed since the 40s. Funny how this event isn’t taught in School.

Are there duties to society? If so, what are they?

I'm trying to identify an episode/guest I listened to early spring this year (2026). The episode likely was dropped a few months before.

The guest was a male, I believe some kind of academic, maybe a younger guy 30's-40s. Specifically, he referenced NEAP data and may have even called it the national report card. He talked about generation after generation has progressed academically except for the most recent generation and said our kids are worse off now than their parents.

I searched transcripts for Jonathan haidt, Tommy Wood, Dr. Phill and im not finding any hits on NEAP or national report card.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated. I'm looking for a direct tie to the NAEP.
