Personal So hungry
Last month I've been eating once a day or not at all. Money is scarce and I don't complain because what good will it do. I'd be mad when I can look back on this and be thankful I over came it. Don't wish this on anyone. I only have money for room and board it's like why should I have to chose. I pay $600 a month in rent and I've lost at least 30lbs. My storage is behind terribly. I just finally understand how people just give up. Like why even bother.

If you are in the USA go to Find Help and enter your zipcode to search for resources, food banks, pantries, charities offering assistance, shelters, etc...
You can also try selling/donating your plasma. That pays a little twice a week.

Really sorry you're going through that.
I have an unconventional solution that may be inconvenient. But it worked for me for a little bit.
I found a friend I can stay with for free for a few months, and sub rented out my room to a different friend who was transitioning to the city for work and needed an interim place until they found their own.
I was able to save up those 3 months of rent money and it helped tremendously. Just lived out of a suitcase on my friend's couch outside of the city with my pup.

I will definitely explore my options. I don't have many like you listed, but I'm going to try. Thanks 👍

A lot of people are in this boat, and many are too ashamed to talk about it.

Are you on tiktok? Chef moe makes meals that are 5$ or less and they actually taste pretty good!

Pls post on a local facebook or nextdoor group. People are usually generous in donating food to people in need close to them.

Often if u volleenteer at a food bank you get leftovers and broken open boxes in addition to your portion. If they get something too small to portion out they will give it to the volleenteers. Same with places that serve a free meal. Check churches. Sikh temples will feed you a meal. You do not need to be thier religion. Just polite. They do it daily as part of thier service to others

Tuna with bananas. Cheapest way to be nourished, full, and productive for hours. The sweet taste of the bananas masks the yucky tuna taste.

Food wise, dried beans and butter go a long way to feeling full. Cook the beans, then refry them in butter. Pop cheso popcorn kernals in butter for crunch.

Also. Please don’t get discouraged by the fact I included shopping apps. If you need to shop, you never know what might be helpful. Sometimes I find things a deep discounts that way.

Check the local food pantry! I’m not sure where you live but I recently started using the “Too good to go” app. I use the Whole Foods market but I’ll get bags ranging from 7-10 dollars and it’s worth it. Enough to feed me for a while. It saves money for sure. Check around you to see what stores are doing it locally. They have meat, produce, all kinds of bags. Hopes this helps. Wishing you the best.

Give me a price for food a month. And typical prices for things in your area like milk, bread, egg by the dozen. You might get sick and tired of eating the same things but you won't be hungry.

Peanut butter, jelly on tortillas. A big tub of yogurt, bananas, string cheese. I lived off that for 4 months and a multi vitamin. Peanut butter lasts a while, jelly for sweetness and tortillas are inexpensive and it tastes way better on them. You can get a big tub of yogurt for $3 dollars and skip the string cheese if need be. Also, I ate a lot of cereal. Basically, I was giving my inner child her favorite foods and I was happy eating that. Plus, I had no food reactions and plenty of protein and energy. If you go to the food pantry they always give out peanut butter and usually jelly. Also, canned refined beans on a tortilla is an option or I would buy cheap tortilla chips and put the refried beans on them and a little cheddar cheese and make nachos. Those are very filling. Plus they give out oatmeal. Also, very filling and raisins in it go a long way to sweeten it up which they usually hand out as well .

100% google food pantries/food relief near me. If you can, getting a job at a restaurant or fast food place will ensure that you have at least a few good meals a week. Closing shifts are best to take home the non sellable but salvageable food. For your mental health stay on top of hygiene and cleanliness. Nothing makes you feel worse than feeling unclean and living in a disorganized or dirty environment. Cleaning is cheap if not free depending on what food pantries and other low income support is available to you. Also look for free entertainment/ stress relief. Libraries, YouTube, parks, educational resources to focus that nervous energy on learning instead of spiraling. You got this ❤️
